3rd Grade Teacher
Natalie Higgins is a passionate 3rd grade teacher for Washington County School District in St. George, Utah. She is in her 12th year of teaching. She has her Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education from Utah State University and is currently working on a Master's Degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Utah.
Natalie was a participant in the Scandinavian Teacher Institute program through BYU in 2014 and traveled to Sweden and Finland to learn about their environmental and education systems. She was then taken on as a Teacher Fellow with the organization called Global Education Allies in 2015. This organization connects educators and students through partnership programs that develop global awareness and foster innovative learning environments. With this new group of Utah educators, she was able to travel again to Finland and other nearby countries to meet and learn from more educators there. GEA is bringing Finnish educators to Utah in February 2016 and they will then travel together to Africa in June 2016. Natalie is excited to be involved in all of these experiences! Being involved has increased her desire to promote environmental and cultural awareness in her classroom and school.
Natalie is a strong advocate for teaching young children about leadership and has a classroom where she helps students feel peace, confidence, and daily success!
