Hidden Among Us
In the spring of 2014, WCSD decided to reopen a school in the polygamist town of Hildale, Utah. There had been no public education in this town since the district closed their school in 2001. Many questions surrounded the decision but only time would tell if the district made the appropriate choice to bring public education back to a community that did not have formal education for more than a decade. Come enjoy this fascinating presentation of the journey they took in the challenging task of opening a school and bringing education "out of the ashes" and to the forefront of rebuilding a community traumatized for years of disillusion, mistrust and tyranny.
